Inspection & investigation

Damp, Mould & Condensation Specialist

Investigate conditions in residential properties and capture the evidence needed to explain your findings clearly.

  • Inspect damp, mould and condensation within the scope of the instruction and your competence.
  • Record photographs, measurements, observations and relevant information from residents.
  • Use Awaab Comply to capture survey evidence and generate reports, checking the output for accuracy and completeness.
  • Recognise when further investigation, urgent escalation or specialist advice is needed.

Relevant housing inspection, building defects and damp and mould experience are valuable. Tell us about any HHSRS or other relevant training.

Fees agreed according to experience and instruction type.

Independent evidence for the court

Expert Witness Surveyor

Inspect housing conditions and prepare clear, impartial reports for the court, whether instructed by claimants, defendants or as a single joint expert.

  • Prepare independent expert reports and Scott Schedules.
  • Undertake joint inspections where required.
  • Take part in expert discussions and prepare joint statements at the appropriate stage of a case.
  • Attend court to give evidence when required.

Previous expert witness experience is desirable. Work must remain within your expertise, with the requirements of each instruction agreed in advance.

  • Careful evidence gathering and clear written communication.
  • Sound judgement about the limits of your competence and when to seek specialist advice.
  • A reliable, organised and respectful approach to working in occupied homes.
  • Willingness to travel to agreed appointments.

Qualifications and location

RICS membership is desirable but not essential. We consider your relevant qualifications, practical experience and suitability for the work.

London is our main focus. We also consider instructions elsewhere in England by arrangement. Include your base postcode, preferred areas and travel radius when applying.

Fees, scope and any assignment-specific requirements are discussed before work is agreed.
